HEY! Cut that out! I hate D20! And I hate Satanis!
I wouldn't say it has 'Great' room for growth, but the system used in EoS could be workable with a little more definition and better desciption. However the background material... urgh. Sorry I just think it needs to be torn down and redone again from scratch. It's not scary, it's not evil, it's just damned unreadable and utterly laughable.

Now, I don't know if you're Darrick in disguise or not, but with a name like Guyin Cognito (Guy Incongnito), the fact that you just registered here to post this one message, and that we know Darrick has been encouraging people to register here and start flame wars... well, it all does rather add up against you. Therefore, on the off-chance that you ARE Darrick or at least someone who will pass along a message, I'd like to say the following:

Empire of Satanis and its companion volume Satanis Unbound are bad. Very bad. If that upsets you, well, sorry, but there are more constructive things you can do with criticism, and specifically with the VERY GOOD criticism that has been given in this review, than hang around sock-puppeting and stirring up trouble. With a lot of practice and an attitude towards self-improvement instead of self-defence you could take this critique and use it to make a good game of this concept, although after all this I expect writing a different but similar game under a pseudonym might be the only way to shake off the stigma of EoS.

If that sounds a little harsh then, again, I am sorry but I really can't drum up any more sympathy than this.

Ash
