Just realised I didn't answer this last question.

There is only one circumstance in the game when the colour of the dice has an influence and that's in combat. Damage is flat if the Yin dice of the attack roll is above the Yang dice, and it's augmented by the difference between the two if the Yang dice is higher. That's due to the fact that violence is Yang. It also limits the deadliness of combat somewhat.

As has been pointed in the thread about the dice mechanic, it would be very possible to omit this "exception" but it would make combat waaaaaaaaaaaaaay deadlier.
