Also true, but be careful here.

That commotion is a force with a vector. I'm sure D&D got plenty of promotion during the time when it was associated with all things satanic. Perhaps it helped make TSR successful, perhaps not, and eventually it was all forgotten.

And I'm getting mixed signals from both the creators. One is saying it's meant for people who already understand the genre, and the other is saying the name is a good way to promote the game. Not that these goals work at cross purposes, but how useful is creating a stir when the product is not designed to create new customers?

And my problem with the game is that it likewise sends mixed signals. The name and cover don't even mix. They invoke such drastically different moods that they end up not representing either genre. Now if you're trying to create a new setting, that's gold, but you're not. You're trying to create a genre emulation engine.

Just a question to the RPG.net folks reading this: What three anime or manga titles do you think of when you hear the term 'Panty Explosion'? That's what a title does, and for a genre emulation engine, it's particularly important.
