I'd probably give a giant bouulder a +6 to +8 damage bonus and a cunning plan a +2 to +4 circumstance bonus. I might even base the attack off Intelligence + Survival in this case. That's going to be a hell of an attack.
The way the game is setup right now, dinosaurs are tough to take down with guns because of the significant bonuses to defense they gain based off Size - something my review didn't go into as I felt it was a bit too specific. Basically, they get a bunch of extra free defense actions. Organizing some sort of clever plan, such as a boulder drop, would be an excellent way of taking them down.
I'm afraid I'm still not following, as I find something like a trap for a dinosaur to be one of the most effective ways of taking them down. A shootout with a Tyrannosaur isn't something I'd recommend in this system.
