Why so much effort spent on vilifying the game? Because it's clearly what the author wants. He revels in the way he is treated, boasts about his 'evilness' (he was thrown out of the church of satan for being too evil
) and writes extensive rants about it all in his products. I'm no psychologist, but I'd say that he likes being treated in this manner because he feels it gives him some kind of validity, as if he requires adversaries in order to justify his own existence. After all, how can he be eeeeeeeevil if nobody recognises it and persecutes him for it?
That's just my guess though.
