Sometimes, you don't want to spend 3+ hrs playing a boardgame or you are forced to wait for everyone to show up. Gheos is one of a very few boardgames that can be played under and hour.

I've bought this game for several reasons. The first is it reminds me of Populous, the computer game. I enjoyed taking on a role of a deity and messing with civilization. The second was that I was looking for some boardgames that won't take up too much time and could be used as filler games. Found this to be perfect for such criteria. Third, I enjoy the back and forth nature of the game. Most of the games I played were close til the end. Finally, I like the screw your opponent aspect of the game. If the civ he has majority stake in, is getting too powerful, force it to migrate to an island or war with another civ.

I tried it in a 2 player game and a 3 player game. There was not much of a difference except that in a 2 player, you could strategize a bit more than in a 3 player game.

Over all, a great fun. Good tension throughout the game.
