The time issue was a relatively big point for me. I just don't think that Catan games work well at two hours, and this game fits into this category unless there's a blow-out win.
My ratings of the Catan games look like this:
Alexander: 2
Stone Age: 3
Struggle: 3.5
Cheops: 4
Settlers: 4
Nurnberg: 5
I'm pretty happy with Struggle being middle of the pack. It's also, I think, the first of the games that I recommend.
