Re: [RPG]: AD&D Players Handbook, reviewed by Lev Lafayette (4/1)
Okay, I liked this review too. I've been running AD&D 1st edition for several months now with an old fogey retro group locally, and using some of the new OSRIC stuff to come out. It has been a lot of fun....and a reminder to me of how much of a chore this game used to be (though now it seems quaint and simple, if still convoluted).
Ultimately, I've decided that C&C is a better route for me to go with, and the OSRIC compatible stuff works just fine with C&C, so I can safely continue to play a game that maintains the feel of classic AD&Dwithout some of the inane rules issues.
But again, after seeing so much trash talk and presumptions about your "vile derision" of AD&D, I just want to say that I think your review is fine and far more balanced than you're getting credit for.
