I really can't do better than that. If explicit, utterly unambigious statements are merely "a perception" then I can offer no further reasonable argument.

Its easy to make a claim like this using one, specialized setting book; now go look at Griffin Island or any of the Gloranthan material and find the same implication. I'll wait. I'm not sure its even hinted at in Land of the Ninja.
