I don't understand this at all. Lev didn't come and take a big dump in the middle of one of your threads. He's doing his own thing, and no-one forced you to read through his review. If you felt he was harsh in his opinions, he at least backed them up with some of his reasoning to explain those opinions.
For myself, I enjoy a little RPG archeology, and Lev's low opinion of the DMG isn't going to spoil my own enjoyment of the book. It was fun to hear his opinions and find out what I agreed with and what I didn't.
If you are dismissive of his point of view, you can always mutter unhappily to yourself in the privacy of your own home without going out of your way to post something insulting about the man in a public forum!
It would be as if someone stabbed you while you were typing at your desk and you took the time to type "Aaaargghhh!!!" before dying. It isn't necessary at all; You can go about your business of dying(or in this case being annoyed) without venting your spleen in text.
Don't misunderstand me-- even though you have every *right* to blow off steam in text. That just doesn't make it appropriate to make derogatory remarks about another person in the middle of a public discussion. It's just plain uncivilized.
