Good review, Lev. I'd have given it a 3/1 myself, but the Otus cover is wonderful--- best part of the book in fact.

It's an interesting read at times, but hardly any of it is game-applicable. We never used it in the old days, and I rarely look through it now. I do like the writing on non-human deities, and would view the book a lot more favorably if it had Roger Moore's great Dragon articles on demihuman gods in it (and not just the slightly abbreviated versions from Unearthed Arcana.)

So on balance, useless, On the other hand, this is probably the most forward-looking of the AD&D books: rows and rows of mindnumbing stat-blocks.
