You guys were missing the point of the book. It was not written for you, the people that devoted a good portion of your lives to mythology and/or looking the information up on wikipedia. It was written for people who wanted to include sort of real world mythology in their games and not have to come up with stat blocs of the gods they wanted to include. I bet you that this book was useful for people long before the internet. In the same vein that Pantheons of the Megaverse was useful for the occasional Rifts players.
This book is what it is: entertainment and little else. I am willing to forgive it most of its errors.
If this book is passing itself off as a scholarly tome with profound impacts for the rest of academic scholarship, then I would not be so forgiving.
