Because they are gods and they don't have "treasure type"; they have unique artifacts. I spent significant time slaughtering my way throught the pantheons and taking their unique artifacts. Multiple times. My longest lived, early character (Thundar the Fighter) ended his career with an impressive armory: Mjolnir, Stormbringer, some Wind-Fire Wheels, Stomrbringer, and (somehow) several Excalibers.

All that stuff and a bunch of naked chicks. God, I loved Deities & Demigods.
