Tables in moderation I don't mind, but tables with every single roll would get on my nerves. Thanks for clarifying this. Similarly (with regards to the OP's comment about there being few RPG's where no reference ever happens) I don't mind referring to a rule book once in a while, again it's the necessity to do so with every roll that irks me a little.

Still, there's plenty of precedent for games that have used the tabular form of task resolution, so I don't intend to knock its effectiveness. Some people must like that kind of thing, just... well, not me.
