Have you considered the possibility that many RQ3e products were, in fact, quite good?
Now you'd have a point if I was giving extraordinarily high marks to RQ1e products relative to AD&D1e - but apart from one item I don't own any. Believe me AD&D1e products would make mincemeat of RQ1e products (Balastor's Barracks, Trolls & Trollkin, Scorpion Men and Broos, Militia & Mercenaries) and related products (All the World's Monsters #1 and #2)
