I know I'm posting too much here, but I just want to pick something up from that question. I've said to Chad a couple of times that PDQ has quite a few similarities to HeroQuest (which he says he's never read): notably the ability to specify anything interesting about the character in the same mechanical way, to resolve any kind of conflict using the same tools, and to chuck any trait that's applicable into the mix when you do so. (Personally I might venture to call it HeroQuest Lite - I certainly find detailed conflicts much easier to get a handle on.)
