Should work pretty well - after all, a lot of the D&D stuff is pretty much on crack anyway (which was one of the points of QMR). One thing to watch is what's considered a "scene" for purposes of recovering damage - possibly more a level than a room, though major rooms might be their own scenes. If it gets too bitty it can feel like encounters don't matter as you're fine again by the next one. It's that dramatic basis again.
