Nope -- the colour registration bar is still on the copy I just received in the mail last week. On the other hand, I don't agree with the original poster about its aesthetic affect. First off, it doesn't show on the front cover of my book (neither does the grayscale bar appear on the back cover), but rather is visible on the inside of the cover. Secondly, I don't think it's nearly as hideous as the original poster thinks it is: in fact, it doesn't particularly bother me at all.
But it's still there, so if it's likely to bother you, then you should be aware of that. But it might not bother you at all (it certainly doesn't bother me).
