Well, that's what the source material is pretty much about, so I'm cool with that. A more accurate SW comparison would be a SW RPG that explicitly assumed you'd be playing a part in the rebellion, and that any campaign would drive towards conflict with the empire.
Which, IMO, would make perfect sense. I'm not sure why else one would be interested in a SW RPG.

I guess I still don't get this. Where are these parts of the setting that are not being covered? Other than what's in the RPG and the two TPBs,
there is no more source material. Was Luke supposed to just start making stuff up?
I'm also not sure how the presence of the Vaylen threat (i.e., Infection) really limits what kinds of campaigns you can play. I mean, the Vaylen are what make the game not
Traveller. What's the point of playing BE if you're not going to do anything remotely resembling the source material?
On top of this, if you really want to hack the thing, just remove Infection. Poof! Dune/Traveller-style RPG right there.
