As for the "chase" minigame... I haven't played it but reading through the example it's pretty awesome. Rather than breaking it down to all the math of distances and such, it's played out with a deck of cards. A number of cards are laid out on the table to represent the path of the chase and depending on the suit and number of the card, different obstacles or hazards are present... and then your horses stats (and ride checks) are used to see if you're affected. Like in the brawling, poker chips are played based on the endurance and such of your horse. (If I remember right... been about a week since I read that part). I think it would be a really fun way to handle it and move away from the "ordinary" mechanics.

The great thing with the "mini games" is that they don't have to be used if you don't want.
