Actually it's surprisngly fast considering the level of detail the results yield. Yes it's a trad e off. But I haven't heard many peoiple complain about combat resolution and speed (as far as folks who have actually played it). As with any system the more familiar you are with the rules/modifiers the quicker things go.

I've never seen Millennium's End or the combat system. I'd be interested is seeing a side by side comparison as far as the steps taken to resolve combat.
