lionrampant,
Thank you.

Okay, I'm glad to know you don't work for the publisher.

It hasn't happened in a while, but it is far from unknown here for somebody to review their own works without admitting it. That's a classical "conflict of interest", and folks around here tend to take a dim view of that. I was a lot more gentle than some would have been.

That said -- I don't know if you were quoting back cover copy or not, but large sections READ like you were. This is my first exposure, so all I know is what YOU tell me.

I would have liked to have seen less of that, and less of the table of contents, and more about actual play. Walk us through an encounter or two. The example you give is so brief it reads like you're just using a 4 sider; 1 = YES, 2 = NO, 3 = NOT YET, 4 = WEIRD THING HAPPENS. A more detailed description of this aspect would go a long way towards selling the product.

And can I use it for conventional GMing? Could I sit down and say, "Okay, the Rebel Alliance wants the PCs to pick up Captain Foglio from Planet Bazoombas and take him to safety. Are there Imperial pickets orbiting the planet? How many?" In other words, can I use it BEFORE the game session to help prebuild an adventure?

Also -- even if you're giddy as a schoolboy over this, there has to be SOME disadvantage. No product is completely, totally, 100 per cent perfect, and the lack of discussion of ANY flaws makes my mean suspicious nature come out. Maybe there aren't any really significant flaws; but somehow, for me saying "I can't really find any significant flaws" goes down a lot easier than not mentioning flaws at all.

I'm always looking for ways to make GMing easier -- my time is very, very scarce. $6.95 is less than I usually pay for a glass of wine.

I would very much like you to sell me on this product.
