Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts, 42! Hopefully I can respond to a few of these points and clear things up.
I'd like to start by saying that I like all of the game's concepts. Horror games, the Victorian setting, and post-apocalypse are all near and dear to my heart. I don't know what you mean by "how well it fits the kinds of games he likes" but I can assure you that on a purely conceptual level I love UnMet.
That said, let me go a step further and say that writing a review that is less than a 4/4 is never fun. Everyone thinks their favorite game is the most awesome game out there, especially when a good bit of hype has been built up by fans for a new game. I'd much rather award every game that crosses my table a 4/4 or 5/5, but that wouldn't be fair to the consumers who read my reviews. Similarly, it wouldn't be fair to award this game a higher score because it just doesn't measure up to other games that I've reviewed. Each reviewer is different and my reviews are known for being 'harsher' than those of other folk. This game is rated slightly below average, and I feel very comfortable with that rating.

I'd give the book a 4/4 (perhaps 5/4 as I'm not entirely sure how style is defined.)

Please do! If you disagree with my assessment so strongly then I encourage you to channel that energy into an informative review! The more perspectives we have on games the more useful they are to the community, and that's who's really important.
