I've put up a request that it be fixed in Trouble Tickets, and provided the right text with the formatting fixed. It's my own silly fault.

In the meanwhile, here's what the start of the review should say:

_____________________

I have reviewed the first edition of Monsters and Other Childish Things before. Because I believe in giving the skinny up-front so as to save the time of those in a hurry: The Truly Monstrous Edition of Monsters and Other Childish Things is a superior product in every way to the first edition. And the first edition was awesome.

I’d almost suggest reading that review first, because pretty much all of it remains true – except the stuff which has been improved in this edition. To an extent I’ll assume you’ve skimmed this review first, because then I can move on to discussing the New Stuff rather than rehashing things. You have been warned.

I preordered the book and downloaded the PDF from IPR, the page for which is available here priced at $29.99 + postage. The PDF by itself is $14.99. This is certainly more expensive than the first version, but you are getting significantly more than three times the content.

As for those who don’t know if the game is yet for you, go here. The blurb on that page will give you an impression of whether MaoCT will be your sort of fun than anything I can do myself.

Now, onto actual details of the product. I know. I’m as shocked as you are.

I also wish to note Greg Stolze's brilliant and extensive Appendices in the form of How to Play Roleplaying Games and How to Run Roleplaying Games are superb, and deserving of their own section in the review.

Mea culpa. Based on the number of cockups in the review, clearly I was not as awake as I should have been when I wrote it, though I stand by the actual content of the piece.

Heh.
