I was rather surprised by player reaction to the game (before they played it). I had several war-themed games in a stack I offered to run, and was surprised when they passed them all over. I explained Godlike was closer to the television show "Heroes" but set in World War II, but that still didn't sway a few of them. The ones that did play really enjoyed the game, but we probably concentrated less on the realistic themes and made it a bit more comic book.
I am working on a review of "Wild Talents" and that is one of the things I plan to mention, how it seems easier to scale that game in terms of realism and theme since there is no set theme. I think there also is advice in the book on how to do just that, which is very useful to starting players/game masters.
