Hey, Baulderstone, thanks for brightening an otherwise dull afternoon in the work place.
Just for the record, I've been playing D&D since 1976 when we all had copies of that damnable white cardboard box and the blurry, unreliable mud dice that you had to color in with a crayon. I was first in line to buy AD&D in '78, and have played every other major rpg system published since 1980. I'm also a historical and miniature wargamer, to whom the current term "grognard" (originally referring to members of Napoleon's Old Guard) was applied in the 1970s. And I'm not even going to get into my professional credentials.
With all due respect, Baulderstone, I think I'm as deserving of the term grognard as anyone here. Not that it has anything to do with my review, of course, but I'm never slow to respond when I sense that a gauntlet has been thrown in my general vicinity

Happy gaming.

They are clearly a part of that johnny-come-lately Avanced crap, that TSR released in those hardcovers just to gouge us loyal fans with higher prices, and have no place in REAL D&D.
