If you're set on using GURPS supers instead of SW then no, I don't think you'll get your money's worth. The real value of NE is as a superheroes toolkit for Savage Worlds. If you have interest in NE you should download the Savage Worlds test drive rules at www.peginc.com or buy the Explorer's Edition rulebook (it's only $10, best bargain in gaming) and try a free one-shot adventure with your group. The game really comes alive in play and is a dream come true for the GM that doesn't have hours to prep each adventure.
