I'd agree that's on the high end for a 2-player game if you don't ever expect to play it 3-player. However, if you play 2 player games a lot, I think it's got a lot of value.
Anecdotally, I can tell you that the original Ticket to Ride game has racked up 69 games for me to date, the vast majority of which were 2 player games with my wife.
