Anecdotally, I can tell you that the original Ticket to Ride game has racked up 69 games for me to date, the vast majority of which were 2 player games with my wife.

Oh, don't get me wrong - I enjoy me a good game of Ticket to Ride. And I"m considering this off and on.
But I've already got three copies of T2R, and it sounds like this is $50 to buy all the pieces again, with just the rules and the board different? That just strikes me as pricey for a two-player game. If anything else, you'ld think it would be cheaper because they don't have to make as many of the little plastic trains.
