Actually, the Black Slaad dates all the way back to 1st edition - it first appeared in White Dwarf magazine and debuted as an official AD&D monster in the 1981 Fiend Folio. I have a vague recollection the Worm That Walks was recycled as well, the monster comes from an HP Lovecraft story originally.
