Re: [RPG]: Dark Sun, reviewed by The Illustrious Number 6 (4/4)

HDimagination> Thanks! There are definitely more to come. I have about two shelves of AD&D material that I want to get through (including all Dark Sun RPG books), so there's plenty more to review.

And thanks for mentioning that WotC are going to re-release the Prism Pentad! I have the other two series of DS novels, but not that one, so this is very interesting news for me.

I have to agree that the Revised edition is inferior to the original. (Though I really like the cloth map .) Sadly, I don't have much hope that a 4E edition will be based on the original. Both 3E versions were based on the Revised set, and after re-releasing the Prism Pentad, WotC can't really ignore the events of those novels, as you already implied. However, if WotC releases a nice, richly illustrated, full-color hardcover with rules for playing the Dark Sun classes and races, and stats for the iconic monsters, then I'll gladly buy it, regardless of what set it's based on. After all, I have all the information I need to ignore every change that I dislike.
