Re: [RPG]: Threats of the Galaxy, reviewed by Phlophouse (4/4)

i agree; the book is still a must buy. the characters inside sometimes seemed underpowered compared with PC's of the same level due to the fact that the threats entries are balanced, well rounded, competent characters compared with the combat specialists of my old group.

one big complaint on the star wars message boards when the book came out was the slew (dozens and dozens) of stat block errors. the vast majority were minor (missing a feat or talent, bonuses off by 1 or 2) but many were disappointed by that. while the characters are still very usuable (i personally never encountered an error that i needed to change on the fly and couldn't in less than 5 seconds), it does show a lack of professionalism on the part of WOTC. it's the same thing as if you picked up a novel riddled with spelling mistakes and typos; the plot may still be excellent and the characters engaging but constantly coming across errors like that is distracting. WOTC needs to hire an RPG fanboy whose job it is to simple number crunch the stat blocks. that sounds like a perfect intern assignment, imho.
