Judas - I agree that the RPGNow poll question could have been worded better to filter out those who scrupulously transfer their copy to another owner (which can be called "sharing") and those who pass along copies. I do believe the basic intent of the poll was aimed at copies however.

Point #1 The extra steps necessary to download product from your service make it less likely I will spend money with your service.

First - it has been erroneously stated in many places that DriveThruRPG.com is White Wolf's site. That is not true. White Wolf is a publisher client just like GDW, Eden, GoO, etc. I do have some personal involvement with both companies but neither is "mine".

Second, the site has been bombarded this past weekend. It was launched with limited broadcast to help mitigate the initial traffic spike, but that wasn't enough. Also there are bugs being worked out to improve site speed. Bottom line - I hope no one considers visiting a new site on its first day under heavy traffic to be the norm for the site.

You do have to jump through a couple hoops to get Adobe 6.0 and DRM, which is of course the main point of giving something of value (Exalted) at the end of the process. It is one time only though and now you're done!

Point # 2 The restrictions placed on DRM PDFs reduce their utility and make it unlikely that I will buy them.

Ok, you feel the cut & paste option is too limited. That's something that can be worked with, thanks.
