Kushan or Ethopia seem logical. As would some Indian Sub-Continental powers.
Some of the flavor text mentions the 'Remains of Parthia' so I don't know if we'll see that, sadly. Fire Priests would have been a cool addition as would Parthian Cataphracts.
They could do some interesting stuff with Britain. Mix in a little Arthurian mythology, if you buy the Arthur is a bronze age myth hypothesis, or have the Sidhe and Formorians come out of Ireland like a Bat out of Hell.
There are no Germans yet, either, and they would have been an interesting force from the time period, along with proto-Vikings.
Mmm.
Axum.
Sidhe/Celts.
Something Indian (I'm having distinct flashbacks to Flint&Drake's Belisarius novels now...)
And yes, Vikings would be very cool.

Does anyone have any advice on paint these little monster?
I'm tempted to spray prime them while they're still on the sprues.
I'd say that's a bad thing, just based on looking at the sprues. Whoever is designing the figures hasn't quite mastered the art of putting the connection between the figure and the sprue someplace unnoticeable.

That's true, but I'm still tempted based on the idea that they're small enough it'll still look decent from 3 feet away.
On the other hand, they probably have fewer issues with getting primed off sprue than some other minis I've worked with. They're pretty much all nice and flat. Then again I don't have any cavalry to mess with, yet.

Is that just from the starter box and the cavalry booster? Cause that's pretty cool.

Yep, and I still have figures left over.

How are your horse archers? 'Cause unless they have some reactive retreat mechanic I'm not seeing how they'd be that much better than foot archers.
I'm not sure how they are in play yet, I only play once a week, but on paper, they're impressively nasty. To start with, they have Mobility, which lets them break away without provoking an attack. Pretty good, but so does every half-sized unit. What makes them scary, though, is fairly ludicrous speed of 6 spaces is 3 directions. There ain't a lot of economical ways for you to keep these guys from getting behind your lines, and plinking away at everyone from their weak sides. 5 dice of archery may not be that impressive, but when you're always firing at units with a -3 defense, it leaves a mark.

Holy Crap!
I was all set to play the Romans until you told me this. That's one of the best interps of horse archers I've seen in a minis game.
Man, what does it cost to field off faction units in your army?

The Xiongnu horse archers are mercenary, so you can field them in any army. Note, however, that some roman units get Xenophobic, which gives you two extra attack dice if you field no off-faction units.
Han get Horse archers, too. I've not seen them in action yet.
