A thought about tags

I love the tagging system, and I try to add to it when I can. A while back I sorted VGO by thread title and went through putting "Team Fortress 2" tags on everything that started with "[TF2]", "{TF2}", etc. But on the whole, old threads don't generally get tagged, for obvious reasons, which seems a bit of a shame.

Is it possible to implement a "random thread" button? I wouldn't mind going and tagging some random archive thread a couple of times a day, to help keep the board well-indexed.

I've been doing this by occasionally clicking on the page "51" and "101" listed at the bottom of each forum and tagging everything I could find there .

Agreed! And I'll go fix the Team Fortress tags now.

Edit: Apparently I've already fixed them.

Hey, thanks.

I'd also wondered if the tagging system would get more use with the tag bar at the top of the page instead of the bottom. Most people forget it's there, I think. Of course the thread pages are already pretty top-heavy...

I tag fairly frequently and I still forget it's there, if that says anything.

You mean like the 'Tags' button in the main forum menu bar?

No, I meant specifically the interface that allows you to view/add tags for the current thread. Even if you notice it in all the clutter, the menu-bar Tags button doesn't let you work with the current thread at all.
