For Alchemy, Joktan has a whole society of them, that Entropy uses to try and get some trick to beat the Enemy, IIRC.

So, with that in mind, mortals in Nobilis is really better off than those in Exalted, I'd say.
At least when it comes to having power available.
Ah, OK. Those are certainly better than what an enlightened mortal can pull off, barring turning into a god.

Re: Exalted with Nobilis?

Kind of figured.
...what are Enlightened mortals/heroic mortals capable of?

If you are supposed to have them represented as a template thing, it'd probably help to know what they can do.

I mean, I know that, when they are Enlightened, they can use Artifacts, manage Thaumaturgy and even do TMA (Even Blady Style, mostly) and TCS (Demon of the First Circle, or sending messages - both would be huge).

But is there anything else?
Some ability to heal faster, some resistance to disease - anything like that?

Extras have worse resistance to disease and damage, but I don't think the normal-heroic distinction gives that. You need to be heroic to get success on tens.

They can also get first circle Necromancy, not that thats different rules wise from sorcery at this point.

Re: Exalted with Nobilis?

I...honestly don't think Necromancy is worth it, since it doesn't allow you to summon demons of the first circle, right?
That's the main use of Terrestrial Circle Sorcery, IMO.

That's mostly it. Plus Essence adds into Dodge Defence Values, and maybe minimum dice pools? Not sure if that's Exalt only. Minimum damage at least (ping) though that's something you're better off not worrying about.

They can do any TMA, I guess people think Even Blade is best or something. Mortal Immaculates would probably do Five Dragon. Golden Janissary's good for fighting Fair Folk and Ghosts. TCS... demons dubiously, elementals, messages, multiple flight or travel spells, battlefield artillery, disguise, lie detection. Long distance scrying. Mass suggestion.

Lets you make zombies. Less flexible but a lot safer than summoning demons. Also summon ghosts to service for a year and a day. Travel to the Underworld or Labyrinth. Messages, differently than sorcery does it. Make temporary shadowlands.

They can spend Essence to lower or eliminate the Resources cost to use Thaumaturgy. Which is kind of like spending a miracle point to eliminate the fatigue from doing mortal magic.
