So I'm reading xoids Delf book, enjoying the fluff, and MAN if those warriors from Naggaroth arn't some evil bastards.

so, museing at my own twisted children of chaos, I wondered how they matched up, evil-wise.

Clearly, while the Delfs have teh Sexxay going for them, the twisted children of the horned rat are certainly more horrific, what with the whole, mutants/plague/twisted science thing. Now the Delfs are EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVIL no doubt, anybody who'd kill thier bretheren and split thier children open over an alter to thier dark god certainly isnt going to be winning any nobel peace prizes.

But let's look at the scope. The Delfs are pissed at their High elf bretheren, they got family issues, and they are certainly ruthless, but World Domination? The Skaven got that.The Skaven are EVERYWHERE. lurking beneath human and elven and dwarfven cities, waiting to strike strike when the time is right. I think this works in the Skaven's favor, and while the Delfs might whack somebody who's interfering in thier little schemes, because they like it, they wont shoot and kill thier own kind without a second thought because, hey, there's more where they came from.

i used to think that the Delfs were the worst. now i'm not so sure. they are Bad with a capital B, but the skaven have that creeping lovecraftian horror thing going for them. I'd like to think that the skittery servants of darkness win out through sheer nastiness, but the Delfs are just cold. I cant decide.

I find cold, intentional cruelty to be much, much more frightening.

Skaven seem to me to be evil by accident.

I have to agree with Ivan. Skaven are rivalled only by Khorne for sheer disregard of intelligent life, but no one can match the druchii on sadism and cruelty.

To put it another way, if the skaven took over they'd kill everyone else, but if the druchii conquered the world the survivors would envy the dead.

I think they both try way too hard to prove that they're 3vul. Maybe it's just me.

Though I would greatly pity the poor son of a bitch who got captured by Clan Moulder or Clan Pestilens as opposed to the Dark Elfs. It's one thing to be operated on by someone who really wants to be Mengele Junior, since you can expect tremendous amounts of pain before finally and torturously expiring. It's something else to be worked on by a blatantly raving psychotic where you never know what to expect every day. Plus, the Dark Elfs mince about with it and put on massive airs about just how cruel they are. The rats just gut you and staple your still-pumping innards to the warts on the Rat Ogre's head. I find the second one far more disturbing.

Teh Delfs are too busy plotting and moping angstfully.

Teh Skaven are all chittery and (In theory) are really craven.

I think that there's actually a lot less of teh little skuttling freaks then you might first think, due to how much Warpstone is needed in their lives, but there's still QUITE a lot.

Hopefully, teh Druchii will get to make up for being flimsy when they take over Albion in full. Yar!

See, I agree with Oddsod. yes the Druchii may kill you and sell your life cheap because you are less than nothing to them.. they are Evil. But the skaven... eh the Skaven are not even remotely human. They will devour your guts and let you watch, twist your body into unspeakable forms, bring pestinlence and plague down upon your world.. and that's just how they are if you havent pissed them off... Sure the Delfs have macheavalian schemeing going on, but the skaven are just waiting to ge thier collective shit together, then pour out of the gutters and swarm over the old world in a chittering horde that will bring the world to darkness.... The Delfs are killers, but the Skaven are...unnatural .

Come on the Druchii are what evil is about. The Skaven don't really consider what they do evil. They are doing what needs to be done to push forward for the good of Skaven Kind. The Druchii, know evil, they embrace evil, they make all others fear what evil can be. The Skaven are, calling them actual evil is like calling sharks evil for being sharks. The dim witted rats don't know any better. And there is the big differance.

The skaven kill people because they're in the way and conduct unspeakable experiments because they want better rat-ogres. The dark elves kill and torture people because they enjoy it. If a druchii kid gets straight A's his parents'll probably let him kill his kid brother as a reward.

Skaven are amoral; they do what they want and don't give a crap about virtue or ethics. The dark elves are actively immoral; they go out of their way to wreak terror and misery in anyone they can find.

As an example, the Noble that leads my force is an utter ass. His sister (A sorceress who he smoetimes diddles) fell in love with a lower noble who might move into my leader's place should he fall in battle (Or if poisoned, or whatever) ... So, he had this lower noble re-assigned to teh honorable position as the head of teh Cold One riders.

A side-effect of riding a cold one is that the goo you have to slather on so that they won't eat you switches your emotions off. You can't feel *anything* anymore. So, now, the Noble's sister is in love with a fellow who can't love her back and who can't even hate teh guy who did it to him to ask for revenge. The Noble, of course, gets to watch his sister suffer and has eliminated a rival, all in one stroke, plus made himself look good for promoting a good officer to a position of power.

See, that's just nasty.

Rats just want to eat something then scurry back to where it's safe. And maybe pick up something shiney along the way.

I'll buy that. But it doesnt mean that the Skaven arnt constantly plotting the overthrow of the world as is as known, A wolrd in which the Horned Rat ruled would ba a dark terrible place, and the only place for the other races wwould be at the dinner table. They are just as coldhearted and evil as the Druuchi in that respect.

the Delfs are dispicable, but they believe their cause is a just one, The Skaven have no such delusions. They know that they will destroy the world... It's what they were created for.
