Perdido Street Station

Ever wonder what the station actually looks like? Here is an artists interpretation:

The image blew my mind when I saw it. Note the rest of the city in the background and, of course, the character on the right (I can't remember his name). Does anyone know of any other PSS artwork. I found some of the creatures a bit difficult to visualize. I've always been curious to see what they look like.

Re: Perdido Street Station

Heh, those pics are almost exactly what I had pictured, although I pictured Yagharek to look more like Alex Ross' Hawkman from Kingdom Come, and less like Beak from Grant Morrison's run on NXM.

[Edit: Added the part about beak]

Damn nice. I've just finished reading this monster a week ago. I love the story and the setting, even though some of the characters came off a little shallow. 6.5 thumbs up.

Since I have A/State on the mind... this could be useful there as well.

That's a really nice picture at the top.

I always pictured a slake-moth to look more like a Lovecraftian nightgaunt, myself. But with psychedelic butterfly wings...

My, but those are good pictures. Part of me says that the garuda should be skinnier, but otherwise, they're like I imagined them but cooler.

Is it any surprise that the creators of A/State give thanks to China Mieville? The City has New Crobuzon written all over it.

The great thing about The Scar is that Mieville concentrates more on a single character and gets to show off how good he is at evoking somebody believable in a fantastic setting. And the big mad ideas are still there as well.
