Battlestar Galactica love

Because after watching the first three episodes I feel there can never to much of that

I love the way they took the characters and premise from the original series and twisted it to new, interesting ways, yet still providing some touch of nostalgia or at least familiarity.

But I'll start with the one thing that seriously bugs me - why do they have to cut the corners of each piece of paper? This is especially ridiculous for the computer print outs. The playing cards I like.

I also tend to miss Commander Adamas senatorial bearing from the original, but have to admit that the new character works a lot better in the current series.

But the real gold is how the characters are defined through their relationships with others. The whole cast of characters shown as a interweaved web is so much more believeable and all the conflicts being complicated and morally ambigous.

And of course, doctor Balthazar's "inner life" is so fascinating.

Battlestar Galactica real proves that older shows not only can have remakes, but that the remakes can easily surpress their antecedents. So I'm joining the hopeful wishes of other RPG.net members that other favorites (like V) will be revived.

I don't miss Lorne Green much. Edward James Olmos is a much better actor imo.

I have hardly seen the series itself. I think I have only seen 2 episodes. If not for DVD sets, I wouldn't have seen the miniseries either.

Anyone see Grace Park's (the girl who plays Boomer) photo shoot in Maxim magazine? Pretty hot stuff. . .

To paraphrase Ron Moore's blog: "There is a very specific reason for this. It certainly isn't just because somone on the set of the miniseries thought it would be an unusual design element."

Yeah, I'm really liking the new Battlestar Galactica.

Between that, Stargate, Lost, and 24, TV doesn't seems so sucky at times.

OMG LINK PLZKTHX.

But yeah. The show does kick ass, even if the last 2 weeks have been a bit slow for my taste. Still had some OH SNAP! moments in them though.

Right now the only people who really seem to dislike BSG are the 70s nostalgia throwbacks who haven't moved on in a quarter century, and severe nitpickers who are spoiled that BSG attempts to be logical and as realistic as possible, yet want MORE. (You would figure what little sci fi TV there is would make people happy a show even THINKS about logic and realism, much less gives some service to it, but there ya go..)

Re: Battlestar Galactica love

I'm going to back up Bloodcat here and beg for links or pics of this photo shoot. I was a bit leary of the series at first, but I have to say that I am really loving it.
