The Contender- Kaddour is gone!

I'm so glad Smith kicked Kaddour's ass all over that ring. Kaddour was really fucking annoying.

My wife and i were cheering when this happened. He was such a jerk to everyone. I was a little nervouse though when Ishe was crying with his wife and wasn't saying anything. He talked so much trash before that i thought his heart wasn't into it. So glad he beat that guy down. Kaddour and his fiancee were both jerks. Pefect match.

I have two minds when it comes to the fight sequences. On the one hand I'd really like to see I really like to see the whole fights - the edited pastiche is heavy on the big hits and light on the technical cat-and-mouse games. And the too-frequent crowd reaction shots really get in the way. Howeverm I undertand the dramatic need to make every fight Rocky-In-Miniature, so I try to get too frustrated.

That said, the fiancee's reaction shot after Khaddour gave the (F.U.) crossed arm sign was great. It was almost as if, for a moment, even she couldn't believe what as ass he was. And I have to admit to a viceral enjoyment of the slo-mo face punches, too.

I think my favorite part of the show is the end-credit sequence where Sly, Sugar Ray, Annoying Trainer Guy and Random Lady (forgive me for not knowing the names of the latter two) sit around and discuss the fight.

So does anybody know if there is a way to see the entire fights? Do they play them on one of NBC's cable channels or via webcast?

I think random lady's name is Jacky, but i could be wrong. She hasn't really done much except for the talk at the end of the show.

You're right. At least the fiancee had a moment of "wow, this guy is an ass" when he flipped everyone off. She did say though "you have to win. What am i going to tell my father, that i'm going to marry a loser." Maybe she was kidding, but it didn't seem that way to me. It came off as pretty harsh, but the guy was a jerk so i didn't mind it so much.

Re: The Contender- Kaddour is gone!

I think that Jackie lady is Jackie Stallone, Sly's mom, I could be wrong though. I honestly thought Ishe was going to loose, he looked scared. But damn was I happy when he kicked Achmed's ass. Achmed was an asshole. I just wish Sugar Ray would have popped him a good one when they were sparring. I also love the little crowd shots, where you end up seeing people like Mr. T, and Tony Danza and shit....

And is it just me, or is the old trainer guy supposed to be like Mick?

Also looks like Ahmed is a freeloader.....

From the Contender Website:

Quote:
Ahmed lives with (and is supported by) his girlfriend, Brandy, a very beautiful 20-something television host who is moving to LA to expand her career. Ahmed will follow her to LA as Hollywood is his "destiny." His peers even call him "Hollywood", and he embraces this nickname because he feels that he IS Hollywood personified.

The trainer guy does seem a lot like mick. I thought the same thing on Sunday when they went out and got suits. Its a good gimmick though. Who doesn't like Mick?

Kaddour is a good looking guy. Must be why she stays with him.

I think I saw Mick in the crowd during one of the fights. Which surprised me because I thought he was dead.

Then either that wasn't him that I saw or it was the best episode ever.
