Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea

Does anyone remember this weird cartoon? I found it compelling, for some reason. It was so forlorn. Looking back now, I guess it reminds me a lot of Vance's Dying Earth stories and Bakshe's Wizards. It had a great visual style.

Vaguely. I remember liking it, though.

Oh yeah, I remember "Spartakus." This was back in the day, when I'd wake up at 5:00 AM just to watch cartoons.

Re: Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea

It was called "Shagma" over here (Spartakus, 2 brave kids, pretty robot woman, and a bunch of weirdo punk pirates, right? ).

Just for the record, that series was the greatest love of my middle-late childhood

Re: Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea

I've a very very vague recollection. I remember liking it a lot. It seemed pretty mysterious and intriguing to me at the time.

Re: Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea

It's the best cartoon I remember from my childhood, and I will have the babies of anyone who can provide me with Region 1 DVDs of the series.
