Actually, I think stunts made thier first appearance in Adventure!

Great review, though!

Well done review.

I have the same issues you had. I really wanted to rip into Exalted but would get blocked up by the first chapter. That's it, then, I'm making it a goal to read the game.

Well done!

Actually both games came out nearly the same time.

Hmmm... Adventure! does predate Exalted.

*Reaches for Adventure! rulebook*

It does have feats and Dramatic Editing, which, together, accomplish something like Exalted's Stunts. I don't think they're the same thing, though.

I'd thought that Adventure came out the previous year, but I'm wrong - both were released in 2001.

Exalted at Origins, I think, and Adventure! at GenCon.

Dramatic editing in Adventure! allows you to spend Inspiration to edit the scene to your advantage.

Stunts in Exalted let you enhance the description of your actions, and by elaborating, gaining dice, Essence and Willpower.

Both achieve a similar effect, but one costs, the other gains.

Leath.

A! also has stunt bonuses. Can't remember the exact page, but they're there, and they work like Exalted's stunt bonuses, almost exactly.

The same with me. I'll explain within a couple of weeks when I publish my review here at RPGnet.
