Overall, this is a great book. it expands on the backstory of the world, includes alot of new plot hooks, and details the history, and one of the most powerful of nations well. its definately worth an exalted fans hard earned dollar.

Ummmm, to note on something, ALL the artwork in the book is original to the book. The only thing sthat are recycled are iconography (The Elemental mons) and logos. All the artwork in the book was commissioned for that book. I don't know where you got the idea that a quarter of the art was recycled.
And while the map is in color, I wouldn't claim it to really be "Full Color". Is colored like it was draw on parchment. So shades of brown and red and stuff.

While I love the DB book, this review makes me wonder if you've actually read any of it.
"...as well as a few new spells, and artifacts."
There is a single new spell, and no new artifacts at all. That was one of the main drawbacks of the book.
Have you read it at all, or are you just making logical assumptions?
"about 3/4ths of the artwork is new, with the other 1/4th being reprints from the various other exalted titles."
I have seen not a single reprint. The only reprint I have seen in the entire Exalted line so far is in the Lunars.
Quote me a page number. Tell me which pieces of art in DB are reprinted, and state which sources they were presented in before.
"internal artwork which is at the same level if quality as that of the core rulebook"
That is an insult. The art of the DB book is easily a lot better than the art of the core book.

I got brave and started reading the body of the review. This paragraph struck me as odd:
"The book is nicely done, and has far fewer grammatical, and spelling errors than the core book did. It definately seems like there was less of a rush job to get this out than there was with the main rulebook, which is quite a good thing. while I was definately impatient for its release, im glad they waited it out."
Hmmm ... while we're on the topic of grammar and spelling, your paragraph has the following mistakes:
* grammatical, [no comma]
* definately [definitely]
* while [While]
* definately (again)
* im [I'm]
Six mistakes in one small paragraph ("im" counts twice). And you're talking about finding mistakes in someone else's work?! How can you possibly expect anyone to take your review seriously? I'm really starting to think you're a troll.
And is it *so* hard to hit shift at the beginning of a new sentence?

alright, upon being deeply offended by your comments, I went and grabbed my copy to retort angrily... and found... that you are right. there are some interesting articles on terrestrial circle sorcery, and there is a single new spell. you are correct in your assertion that there isnt any new equipment, though there is plenty of info on the styles of armor and trends. I, apparently, confused some things from the storytellers guide with the dragonblooded book. no excuse, but there is an explanation at least. as for the artwork being far better. I dont agree, I think there are equally good pieces in both, but thats all opinion. I will agree that there are more scene style paintings, with detailed backgrounds and the like in the DB but that doesnt mean better. sorry for the poor fact checking. to answer your question, wasnt smoking anything, but was quite tired. I have, in fact, read the book cover to cover, but I should have collected my thoughts on the subject, as I also read 3 other exalted books cover to cover in the same period.

thanks for the critque, as for the artwork, alot of the original work is focuses on other books such as the storytellers guide, and work originally submitted to 'the Scarred Lands' books. or so I have been told. though I was mistaken in my ascertations, and I will be sure to double check my facts before making statements based on them from now on.

*smirking slightly* Thank you very much for pointing out flaws in my grammar. I have definately become lazy in the 3 years since I took an english class. It is far easier to see flaws in other's works than to catch them in your own.

Well, being the art director for the Exalted line, I can promise you that all the art is new and none of it has anything to do with the Scarred Lands setting or the storytellers guide. It seems your sources are wrong. The only art that's been accidentally reprinted while I've been at the helm is one Chris Steven's piece in Lunars and one in the upcoming Ruins of Rathess because I needed a little bit of filler art to finish up a chapter. But I guarantee that I've never not hired all new art for the hard back books.
