Thank you muchly, Shannon, for your review.

It's extremely informative, and told me exactly what I needed to know about the game.

Cheers,
Merric

As always, really... Awesome review! Keep them coming!

Though you really should get paid for your reviews. I know you like the Rpg.net community, Shannon, but consider your family!

It was a really complex game, so I'm glad the review was coherent.

I just spent four days with family in St. Louis, so I think I was due.

Well, okay then. But you still deserve monetary reward for your excellent reviews.

It certainly was; it looks like a game that I'd be fascinated by... unfortunately, the same can't be said for my group - which consists of both casual and dedicated gamers - the skill problem would certainly come up!

Cheers,
Merric

And ironically it just gave me a (figurative) headache. But I recognize that different folks like different levels of cognition in their recreation.

If I may make a suggestion...

Put the exhaustive list of components later in the review. If I hadn't skipped over them to read the sequence of play, I probably would have gotten bored and stopped reading.

Otherwise, yes, very good review.

If you're a serious strategy player that enjoys a thinking man's games, this is one for you: a solid, interesting European design. If you prefer your games in a slightly lighter vein, read this review carefully first to see if Princes of Florence is actually of interest or not.

Just wanted to chime in with some praise. I enjoy reading your reviews of board games, I find them complete and well-thought-out.

Comparison to Puerto Rico

.. a very good game that does seem stuffy and difficult compared to PR... shows seyfarth's real genius in making a multi-board game in which players dont feel isolated or too math-y...
