For completeness' sake: They first published the cards as a "Turnierset" in Germany - "tournament set". I remember reading on the box that for tournament play, you needed two of the main game boxes plus one Turnierset.

That probably was too expensive for most people, and certainly for me. So later the folks at Kosmos divided the cards up into five themed sets.

What I don't know is what the tournament rules were like, or if they added any cards at a later stage, because I never bought it -- sorry.

Not sure what you're talking about in your comment - this english version is also published as a single set with all five themes included and the tournament rules are also included (and you still need two basic sets to play the tournament rules).

And as a comment to the question in the review why they changed the icons - they didn't :-), these are the original german icons, the icons in the english basic set is the ones that for some reason were changed.

I was addressing the second paragraph of the review, which reads:

> This game was originally published in
> Germany as five different sets of cards.

But you're right, from skimming the review I'd assumed that the English one consisted of five sets as well. I should have read the whole text closely before responding. Sorry about that.

Then I have to apologise too since I didn't notice that comment in the review which made your comment more valid :-).
