Spells!

I like that there are lots of Magic spells in the book, it is helpful just for that even if you are not very excited about the game setting.

This sounds fun. I'm just wondering is it for the standard BESM system (about which I know zilch) or for BESMd20? I ask because I like d20 and anime, and have been considering buying said rulebook.

It's for the original BESM that uses the tri-stat system. You can find information and release schedule at the Guardians of Order site -- http://www.guardiansorder.com/
If you check their products and release schedule, you'll see that they clearly mark which books are d20. >^_^<

Right then. Thank you. Next question: is there a conversion for tri-stat besm and d20 besm?

The Attributes are similar enough that you should still be able to use them. Just use the BESM d20 description of the same level.

For example, BESM d20 Armour lvl 3 is the equivalent of BESM tri-stat lvl 3, even if the descriptions vary by system.

The big thing to keep an eye on is the stats, which could change the cost and listings of the packages, and the number of character points to start with. BESM d20 has twice as many stats, the numbers of which go twice as far - but the stats cost half as much, since you only get a modifier increase change every even stat. For example, you'll need to adjust for the starting character points given, and if a package says BODY +1, you'll need to change it to +2 STR, DEX, & CON.

The only other real change is to the listing for Dynamic Sourcery. (I haven't read CH,DH yet, so I'm not sure if this applies.) In BESM d20, it's an attribute that lets you use other d20 system spells. In BESM, it's like the Magic attribute, except you don't pick sub-attributes, you just pick a theme and wing up to that level of any attributes you could use with Magic so long as it fits within your theme (kinda like Mage without prebuilt traditions, using all of the other attributes as spheres, but all of the 'spheres' are the same level as your erete).

Other than that, all you'd have to do is make everyone the Adventurer class, unless you strip out classes entirely and just give everyone 10CP/lvl.

That is why I eventually bought the book. I didn't know if the setting would excite me, but it ended up being cool.
