Yeah, there was a huge line of Champions comics. The publisher still has extensive back stock and trys valiantly to sell them through the heroicpub.com website.
I hope if GR or GoO try this, they have better quality control than the earlier attempts. Even the V&V comics were amongst Jeff Dee's weaker works.

I doubt it. Jeff Dee and Jack Herman were comic book fans first. The RPG was their way of contributing to the comic book world. Their dream was always to make comic books (not really games, although I'm sure they didn't mind).
On the other hand SAS and M&M are primarily games, made to be games. I brought up the possibility of an M&M comic/suplement mag in the open forum a while back, and the idea was shot down by everyone...although I can't remember all the reasons why now??
That said, I wouldn't mind seeing an M&M comic, although I don't know if it would have the same ooomf as a V&V comic would have.

I liked the original Champions comics, in color, with stats in the back. When the art improved, the stories went downhill, and the game stats were removed. Finally, when it went black & white, I had already lost interest.
It didn't help that when I got a subscription it kept being cancelled and then revived a few months later.
At least GoO or Green Ronin could probably get some hot artists. The art in Mutants & Masterminds blew me away!

Grubman!
You
ROCK
For reviewing these, I've got them and was pondering why the Crisis reviewer didn't mention them since it is essentially the module updated as a comic book.

I don't know how much the price guides list them for, but I got around $10 last year for a set of them in Excellent condition.
Good review, by the way, though I did notice one minor error, if only because it upset V&V fans who I told about the comic. In the update section in the back of the comic not all the Crusaders went up in level since the original module--for whatever reason they decided the laser-firing fellow (Laserfire? It's been so long since I've read the books or looked at that module I can't recall his name) didn't go up in experience after all those years. Apparently the authors believe in the "once a rookie, always a rookie" philosophy.
By the way, does anybody remember the original Champions comic mini-series?
