Thalles de Mello's Summary:

Winner of the 1985 Origins award for Best Roleplaying adventure. It must have been a really bad year.

and complain that the jokes are too dated for younger players? Odd statement, that.

I suppose it relates to how it has stood up to the test of time. I'd thought them a little obscure even 13 years ago when I originally bought it.

I actually ran the module all those many years ago and I agree with the comment wondering about why it won best adventure that year.
As for it being funny now, I haven't read it lately, it was funny then, but best adventure? Especially compared to other Paranoia modules YCBBB is not nearly the best out of that litter.

Heck, we had a great time with Vapors Don't Shoot Back from that same era, even though it's a little disjointed.

Best moment: When a troubleshooter's adrenaline boost power went awry and bulked him up so bad he was stiff and couldn't move, they plunked some wheels under him and used him as a skateboard. Poor guy ended up jammed under a food vat, a human jack if you will, hoping a random explosion would finally kill him.

Man, I gotta run Paranoia again soon. Seems like I try every year and my plans just fizzle.

I thought it was strange that the review didn't like the jokes because they were dated and only a 35 year old would understand them.

I *am* 35 and find the jokes hilarious. Then again, I bought it when it first came out.

Paranoia is a result of the cold war - and was a lot funnier then. Now the Computer would have to be on the alert for "Terrorists" and the person sending them on the missions would be ASHCRO-V-TJON.

I tend to agree with Brent, I thought the adventure was hilarious. I have run it (twice) and I and the players enjoyed it both times.

Of course, I am 39....
