No longbows with autofire mode?

Haven't they seen _Hawk the Slayer_?

He probably has the Ranged Rapid Attack skill (maybe with a limitation "only with bows").

That Elf changed my life forever. That bow autofire bow was the coolest thing I had ever seen at the tender age of 13!

Legolas's 7-arrow rapid-fire assault on the Uruks in the extended FOTR dvd was pretty awesome too...!

You'd probably have to buy Legolas' stunt straight out as an Autofire RKA with Focus.

Nice Review

I bought Fantasy Hero recently and found it to be an excellent tool for the GM who has the time and interest to create their game world. The mechanics presented in this book are of course found in the standard HERO 5th edition but here we get it presented in a fantasy-specific setting. I love the five page price list, the perks and talents appropriate for heroes, the advice given for game masters and the options for magic systems. At least a couple of the magic systems are innovative. The "Lex Magisterium" system, for example, makes spells cheap in that their cost is Real Points/5 but mages will need high magic skills to cast high-powered spells reliably. The idea of character points provided in certain materials when making magic items is another good idea. All in all, I find this a very useful resource and I'm glad to see a positive review of it. Peace.

I'm just curious butm what (if any) discount is given to a player that chooses a profession package deal. I've already ordered the book based on your review, but I just can't wait :-)

While I don't have this book, from what I know of other Hero books... Nothing. A point is a point (only, not all powers are equally valuable, so that not quite true...)

Question

I read your review, but I'm still curious - do you really think it's worth purchasing this book? I have the original FH stuff, and I'm not sure it's woirth buying the new book - it doesn't appear to offer that much stuff for me, personally. I mean, I don't need ANOTHER book telling me "What's fantasy role-playing... this is high fantasy, this is epic fantasy..." I get the idea. As an old time gamer, I know fantasy. And I personally like the old racial packages better. they had cutlural packages, and racial packages, to stimulate the fact that an elf could be raised in a human society, and therefore have only the racial package. But that's a small gripe.

So do you really think it's worth coughing up money for, judging that I own the 5th ed. book, and have the old FH books?

Just curious.
