Shift in tone?

I didn't find any shift in tone in Redline. Mad Max is perfectly consistent with the Car Wars style autodueling presented in Redline. In fact, the rules for weapon placement tend to force construction of semi-trucks with mounted crossbows as seen in The Road Warrior.

My review is available at http://www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/9/9650.phtml

I agree, the tone is maintained throughout the book. If anything Redline is worth it's cover price alone for the vehicle combat rules. These could be modififed to produce a very tabletop friendly car wars style game, sans any roleplaying at all.

I think it should've been a 128 page hardcover at 28$. Just me, but it could use a bigger bestiary, advanced vehicle rigging rules, and some prestige classes and campaign running content.
